Walnut highlight
San Gabriel Valley hillside community
Walnut sits in the San Gabriel Valley, a 200-square-mile region bordered by the San Gabriel Mountains to the north and surrounded by the San Rafael Hills and Puente Hills.

The San Gabriel Valley is one of Southern California's principal valleys, extending east from Los Angeles through urban and residential communities. The San Gabriel Mountains form its northern boundary, with the highest peak, Mount San Antonio, reaching 10,069 feet. To the west lie the San Rafael Hills; to the southeast, the Puente Hills. This geographic setting, once agricultural land, is now almost entirely urbanized and part of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
The valley's landscape has been shaped by deliberate development into master-planned suburban communities, of which Walnut is a prime example. The city covers nine square miles and was incorporated in 1959, becoming one of 31 incorporated cities and communities within the valley. Walnut's position at the foothills gives residents views of and access to the mountains beyond their neighborhoods.
For families planning their financial future, this combination of suburban comfort and mountain-proximity matters: it anchors the quality of life they are building for their households. A life insurance policy sized to protect that future—covering the mortgage, the education years, and the stability of the neighborhood and schools—is how that planning becomes concrete.
